Batch Shot Blasting for Castings and Forgings: Surface Cleaning and Deburring

Table of Contents

Fast Batch Surface Cleaning for Foundries and Forge Shops

For high-volume production of small to medium parts, manual grinding and acid washing are slow, costly, and inconsistent. The tumble belt shot blasting machine (Q32 series) provides an automated, batch-processing solution to clean hundreds of parts in a single cycle.

Rapid Scale and Rust Removal: Strips stubborn heat-treatment scale, foundry burn-on sand, and surface rust in 3 to 8 minutes per batch.

Effective Edge Deburring: Blasts away sharp parting lines, flashing, and machining burrs without altering part dimensions.

Uniform Surface Finish: Delivers a consistent, matte silver-gray finish ready for painting, plating, or machining.

How Tumble Belt Processing Works

A standard batch tumble blast system combines continuous part tumbling with high-velocity abrasive blasting to clean every surface evenly.

Continuous 360-Degree Tumbling: The endless apron belt rolls parts smoothly over one another, ensuring all faces, blind holes, and recesses pass through the blast stream.

Direct-Drive Centrifugal Blast Wheels: High-efficiency direct-coupled blast wheels propel steel shot or grit at high speed to clean parts quickly and reduce cycle times.

Continuous Media Air-Wash Separator: An integrated air-wash separator cleans reusable abrasive by removing dust and broken media before returning it to the blast wheel.

Apron Conveyor Options: Rubber Belt vs. Steel Slats

To match different workpiece weights and characteristics, two primary tumble shot blaster configurations are available:

Rubber Belt Shot Blasting Machine: Ideal for aluminum die-castings, brass parts, and threaded fasteners. The flexible rubber apron cushions component contact, preventing surface bruising, edge nicking, and thread damage during tumbling.

Steel Slat Tumble Shot Blaster: Designed for heavy iron castings, structural forgings, and hot parts up to 200°C. The interlocking manganese steel slats withstand extreme impact without tearing or puncturing.

Heavy-Duty Construction by HQAMUR

Rolled MN13 Wear Liners: The blast cabinet is fully protected with thick rolled MN13 manganese steel armor, delivering extended operational lifespan under multi-shift production.

Pulse-Jet Cartridge Dust Collector: High-efficiency dust collection maintains workplace air quality and keeps particulate emissions below 20 mg/m³, meeting strict environmental standards.

Hydraulic Loader and Unloading Automation: Optional automatic hydraulic skip loaders and reverse-belt discharge automate material flow and reduce labor intensity.
